Just try to mount USB key 256M on my FC2 box.
gives me the error:
mount: /dev/sda1 is not a valid block device
But when I try:
# mount -t vfat /dev/sda /mnt/usbkey (yes, /dev/sda instead of /dev/sda1)
it works !
Any explanations ?
This is well known. The key is formatted as a floppy, not as a hard
drive. You can change this by creating a primary partition on it (fdisk
/dev/sda) and format it as vfat. WIN will still be able to access it,
and Linux will have an wasier time with it.
