Resistance is futile :-). I turn off all the renaming junk
on systems with just one interface so I can continue to get
eth0, but I gave up on systems with multiple interfaces
and just use the strange names the system invents (which works
OK till they change the algorithm and it invents new names
on the same dadgum hardware - that hasn't happened as much
recently as it used to happen).
Well that was why I renamed them in the first place - so if the default names
changed it would still work :-(
The failure was reported here already, see subject "Fc30 -> FC31 : Can't
rename
interfaces. FC30 worked."
