I just remotely logged onto my F15 system at work and found
/usr/lib/tmpfiles.d/systemd.conf
which contains this line:
d /tmp 1777 root root 10d
Knowing NOTHING about "systemd" or this file format (yet), I'm taking
the wild guess that the initial "d" stands for "delete".
