Once this happens, NetworkManager shows that wireless is enabled, but
shows no available networks. Stopping and restarting the service
doesn't help. It's necessary to reboot to restore the network
connection.

You will have to revert to the previous kernel to get this to work
properly see the previous threds on this. Seems to be a known problem.
