There is some "helpful" accessibility stuff built into gnome
that sometimes gets activated without you noticing which
has strange side effects like this (but if changing to a
different mouse fixes it, it probably isn't the accessibility
gimmick).
if I am looking in the right place-Control center, assistive
technologies... cliking on Mouse Accessibility brings up... the same
mouse items from hardware..acceleration is set to slow, so is
sensitivity. And now, even with new batteries my bluetooth mouse is
again doing the double-click when I only hit it once.. I hate to go back
to a wired mouse, maybe I'll try another wireless USB mouse..
