No, the allegation was that disparaging comments directed at the code are
perceived as impuning the character of the code's source, and not the
character who's using the code.

No, that's not what will happen. What will happen is: absolutely nothing.
Crickets will chirp for about a year, or a little bit more, and the bug will
get closed after the release EOLs.
