Sounds like it's how MS is getting manufacturers to sabotage the BIOS to
discourage users of *nuxes and *nixes and variants.
Perhaps you can look for an alternate bios and flash it.
One can get and install alternative (generic?) BIOSes? Sorry but this is news to me. Is
this what we are looking for?
