And if I were developing a desktop for people to use, I'd want to be
sure that I wasn't wasting my time developing something that people
didn't like, nor was awkward to use. It's certainly my frame of
reference when I'm designing electronic devices.
Let's face it, whatever their personal needs, they are developing it for
others, too. They'd be a fool if they don't pay some amount of
attention to the number of downloads, etc.
