I created the scripts as in comment 28 of that page and all is well.
P.S: I am running vanilla 2.6.34.1 from
kernel.org.
Seems the bug is still there. Perhaps it will be addressed
in 2.6.35 release.
Don't hold your breath. The problem has been around since 2.6.32
with little sign of action.
