For headless server administration, the admin typically just SSH into
the box and administers from the command line. That's because servers
usually lack the GUI packages, and admins are usually adept at the
command line.
I'm aware of that, thanks. This is intended to be a workstation serving
GUI apps over a LAN. I want to be able to use something like GNOME
Connections or Remmina to log into a desktop session
If you want a remote desktop, and you have a machine that provides a
GUI or desktop, then I believe VLC server or RealVNC is what you are
looking for.
VLC server looks like it's for streaming media. There seem to be a few
choices for VNC servers: TigerVNC, neatvnc, wayvnc, x11vnc. What should
I look for when choosing one? Anybody have a particular recommendation?
Ease of administration would be a plus.
Thanks.
