Hey all, has anyone tried to install Firefox 2.0? I installed Fedora
6
with no problems, but am trying to install firefox 2.0. I tried a yum
install firefox-2*, and there was no match. I also downloaded the
firefox tar ball, but don't see any install or makefiles. If anyone has
any suggestions on how to get this thing installed, they would be
greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Guy
I have it running under FC5 just fine. I just unarchived it and put
into my own personal bin (/home/whatever/bin/firefox) and pointed the
link that I had on the panel to point to that version instead. As I am
the only one using the machine this works fine for me. I backed up the
.mozilla directory prior to doing this so that I could restore things to
where they were in case of any problems. Haven't seen any yet...
I'll probably do the same on my FC6 box later today.
ciao,
