Does taking out "rhgb" from the boot command line do what you want?
It doesn't seem to. I'm trying to change three PCs, of which two
resolutely refuse to create any GUI (under F 28 Mate) beyond the login
screen. All I can do with either of those is to hit Ctrl-F2 as soon as
they go off the rails, while they still see the keyboard and send to the
monitor. So I tried deleting rhgb from those and rebooting -- no joy.
(Once either of the bad two succeeds, I'll try the main one.)
