There are several .pdf readers that come with most Linux distros. I'm
almost certain that LibreOffice can create them, but if that's what I
need, I generally use Scribus, a cross-platform FOSS page layout
program of professional quality.
Libreoffice can create PDF? Rightly or wrongly, I
have been under the
impression
that the pdf format was copyright'ed by Adobe???
