The Short Stack font seems to suit most of my purposes. (although

Tim, you are my hero. I found it by googling "educational font".

For those who are looking for a regular font for kids to copy and
learn, have a look. Thanks, Tim. :)
I love the description for this font....
Short Stack is a low contrast semi-geometric typeface inspired by childish written
letters. Short Stack is sturdy, and clear but also whimsical and fun. Short Stack works
well from medium text sizes to larger display sizes.
I honestly don't know how you're going to use this font in "teaching"
but since the vast majority of websites and any printed material won't use this
font........
It is a good thing that young children will be able to recognize a "g" even if
it is not written exactly as taught. Without being aware, they understand context.
