Ohh, it must never happen then. From the person who used to triage the
bugs from when it did, please trust me that offline updates has
reduced the number of trashed systems by three orders of magnitude.
Please do not take my quote out of context. I never stated, nor implied, that
something could not happen.
Also, my quote had nothing to with the actual update process itself.
My statement in the original, unedited, un-snipped email in summary said....
"My system was not damaged by not immediately doing a reboot after an update that
would have indicated processes needed rebooting".
And when I say "my" system I do mean "my" system. That is not to be
taken as an
indication that something can never happen. It is simply a statement of fact.
