Tried installing Haveged suggested in the Ubuntu bug report, but no dice. That

You went to the last line on the left hand side of the Utility which reads
"nvidia-settings Configuration" and not the second line on the Utility which
reads
"X Server Display Configuration"!!

Doesn't seem to have a monitor section, but this may be because it's a laptop so
the nVidia and Intel gfx are interconnected, I also don't have a 98-monitor.conf
file.
That is because it isn't what I've asked of you. And, I thought my instructions
and
examples were clear, but you are *creating* a 98-monitor.conf.
