You can use development (pre-F8) kernels really easily with F7
# yum --enablerepo=development update kernel
at the moment it needs a handful of other packages from development. I
have done this on several machines here with good experience.

I meant for the snd-hda-intel that is not well supported. I have seen
updated alsa packages in development, but not for F7.
I am filing a bug in Bugzilla about bad management of usb ports in
latest production kernel
