My FF session usually has 100+ tabs open. Sometimes I do get issues,
but with sites with lots of scripts doing "smart" things. FF usually
prompts in such cases to stop the script.
I sometimes go beyond 300 tabs, approaching 500.
This abandoned extension is incredibly useful:
Javascript is disabled for all background tabs, so they won't use CPU time anymore.
