Log files are discouraged on this list. And, if you do attach one and it is over a
certain size it will be stripped. Look in the file and only include the relevant
lines....or what you think are the relevant lines.
I take it that you can login in text mode. So, what happens if you type
"startx" after login?
Also what is "ll /etc/systemd/system/default.target" showing.
