Well, between the speed jumper, and a failing drive, the speed
difference is more likely then it being a DD problem.
Now, as far as removing the jumper, if it has the little ridge at
the top, you can use an Xacto knife as a pry-bar to get it out.
Without the ridge, you have to use the point - a bit harder job.
