How do I add the brlapi entry to /etc/group? i opened it in Nano, but i
don't understand the sintacs.

Do you have an entry for brlapi in your /etc/group?
I do, and if I start the service I don't get the error you note.
Also, it may be possible that with that line you'd need to add your
user to be in that group.
