Did all that and it made no difference. I also logged out and in again
just in case.
OK.... I've just been trying it with opera and haven't been able to get it
right yet
either. But, that is the issue. One needs to get the x-scheme-handler to report
opera.desk top.
The problem is that application information is kept in multiple places and I forget
the order that information is parsed. I suppose it may be time to look at the
/usr/bin/xdg-settings script again. :-(
