F37 broke netupstools
by Sam Varshavchik
After updating F37 nut is unhappy, spewing this every couple of seconds:
Nov 21 06:48:28 monster.email-scan.com nut-server[1735]: Can't connect to
UPS [nutdev1] (usbhid-ups-nutdev1): No such file or directory
Interestingly enough, the XFCE desktop's panel has a widget that shows the
UPS and its charged status.
Today's project is to figure out what's broken, does anyone happen to know
what's up with this, and save me some time?

clang compile error with latest kernel
by Chung Chung
Hi, I am wondering if anyone has successfully compiled latest kernel using clang, I have been having problem with it for the last few month,
and here is the error that I have:
In file included from drivers/tty/tty_io.c:103:
./include/linux/termios_internal.h:37:5: error: conflicting types for 'user_termio_to_kernel_termios'
int user_termio_to_kernel_termios(struct ktermios *, struct termio __user *);

./include/asm-generic/termios.h:20:19: note: previous definition is here

Sorry, if it has been discussed before, but I don't seem to find the answer.

kvm vs firefox issue?
by Eyal Lebedinsky
I am running up-to-date f36.
Recently I had kvm "virsh restore" take a long time. Normally it takes less than 10s but now it took 10-15m!.
Then it took 30m (qemu-system-x86_64 running 100% CPU all the time) and I started looking around.
I noticed that khugepaged is also running 100% CPU. Thinking that there may be a memory issue, on a whim, I closed firefox. KVM came up immediately.
The machine has enough memory (32GB) and kvm was allocated 8GB.
Right now I again resumed the vm, and after 2m I closed firefox and again kvm responded instantly.
This started only recently (kernel 6.0.18 or 6.1, or another update?)
Is there a known problem.

Possible to recalibrate the battery on a laptop?
by andreas.fournier@runbox.com
So recently I've started to get this problem that the laptop dies even
when the battery indicator says there is something like 40% left, i.e.
I never get a low battery warning. Then when I plug it in and restart
it also says the battery is at something like 40%. The laptop is about
five years old.
Is it possible to recalibrate the battery indicator so I would get a
warning when it is about to die?

connecting using wireless usb
by Bill Cunningham
Does anyone have any idea how to turn on wireless from the cli? ip add
is extremely complicated as well as ifconfig which is I guess
deprecated. I had to reinstall everything and it was detected when
rebooting no wifi. Can I get online in a simple manner. One can I guess
use iw somehow too. I have only used fedora with an ethernet, now I am
having to use wifi.

shutdown
by Patrick Dupre
Hello,
I would like to set one of the following
1) shutdown now and restart at a given time,
2) shutdown (halt) and restart automatically when the next power
with be back on (of course at the shutdown, the power will be on,
it will be turned off for a couple of hours, and it will be
backed).
Actually, this will be done more or less automatically if I do not
do anything, except that the shutdown will be hard when the power
will be turned off. It may be at risk.
Option, can I turn the machine to sleep before the turn off the power?
Thank

Kernel drivers RT2870
by Bill Cunningham
IDK if anyone is familiar with this series of legacy products/drivers or
not, but I am using of course F37. Now there is some nice source code
and such with these drivers for this USB wifi antenna; but I just want
to load a driver and go at it. I can't even get online now via linux.
Does anyone know of where they can get access to these drivers already
precompiled and ready to go? They are called I suspect RT2870.o or more
like RT2870.ko. I can't seem to find anything, and the docs with the
driver source seem vague to me and I just don't feel like compiling
right now, I just want to go online.
