X root cursor changing randomly?
by Tom Horsley
Just curiosity: Has anyone else noticed their root X cursor
randomly reverting back to the default big hollow X shape?
I've got it set to an arrow shape, and at some point during
my session it will suddenly go back to the default X shape.
I can fix it with xsetroot, but I have no idea why it is
changing on me (and I haven't changed anything in my
session - just downloaded updates from time to time).
I can't imagine there is any way to track this down
that would be worth the effort, but I just thought
I'd ask if anyone else has seen it.

Actually, it seems gnome 3 is running fine if I put
exec gnome-session
in my .xinitrc and start the X server with startx (i.e. non graphical
mode). The problem seems then to be with gdm.

Problem in touchpad after suspend/resume
by Marcos Paulo de Souza
Hi guys,
I have this problem, when I suspend/resume my machine my touchpad stops
working on my Asus X450LC laptop. After executing a dmesg, I found these
messages related to ACPI:
[37095.537571] ACPI Warning: \_SB_.PCI0.RP05.PEGP._DSM: Argument #4 type
mismatch - Found [Buffer], ACPI requires [Package] (20150204/nsarguments-95)

mismatch - Found [Buffer], ACPI requires [Package] (20150204/nsarguments-95)
Do you have some idea what can be this problem?
Thanks in advance!

Hi,
There is a bug report here:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1205771
It's already closed. I've just added a comment about my problem hoping
that it will be reopened.
Thank you both for the help.

sed question??
by bruce
Evening..
As a test, the following is an attempt to replace "text" from a test
file with "text" from an external file.
aa=$(cat www1.txt)
sed -i "s*#\tISSUES/NOTES::*$aa*g" foo.py1
When I check the foo.py1 file, I get "$aa" in the file, instead of the
replacement text.
The test is using replacement delimeters for the sed, as the
replacement text has slashes...
thanks for any pointers.

Try this code:
#include <gsl/gsl_multifit_nlin.h>
int main () {
const gsl_multifit_fdfsolver_type * T = gsl_multifit_fdfsolver_lmder;
gsl_multifit_fdfsolver * s = gsl_multifit_fdfsolver_alloc (T, 100, 3);
}

Atleast I got it to compile and run without segfaults.

gdm autologin doesn't work after updating to F22
by Sam Varshavchik
In /etc/gdm/custom.conf I have:
[daemon]
TimedLoginEnable=true
TimedLogin=mrsam
TimedLoginDelay=10
After updating to F22, the progress bar marks off the ten second wait and
then …nothing. I have to log in manually.
I tried adding WaylandEnable=false, this makes no difference.
Anyone know what's broken?

FC21 vs FC20
by Patrick Dupre
Hello,
It seems that the number of processes running in background in FC21 comparing
with FC20 is a lot higher.
Am I correct?

Libssl and libcrypto
by Howard Howell
Hi, guys,
I just attempted to update Eagle CAD and it requires these libraries.
Good old "yum what provides libssl" and again for libcrypto return
nothing. Since SSL seems to have lots of uses, and libcrypto surely has
good uses, where are the recommended sources for these bits?
almost forgot. F20 electronic labs spin, x86 64 bit version lots of
space (about 1tiB and about 16G memory 8cpu AMD FX83 processor.
fully up to date. ran yum clean all to ensure no funny background
stuff, and then yum update and repeated the whatprovides queries.
