Fedora weather station software? -
by Bob Goodwin
Has anyone been able to interface F-14 with a weather station
such as the Oregon Scientific stuff, e.g. the WMR100CA? I was
given some of this equipment at Christmas and would like to
connect it to the computer where I would have a usable display
instead of the hard to read [for me] tiny LCD. It appears that
it only comes with MS software, surprise!
Google shows some instances of an effort to log the data with
Linux and I would like to know if someone has gone through this
exercise and made it work?

dhcpd gateway settings
by Aaron Gray
I am trying to set up a network and gateway on 192.168.1.x that I am using
for BOOTP'ing servers.
dhcpd.conf
~~~~~~~~~~~
allow booting;
allow bootp;
ddns-update-style interim;
ignore client-updates;
subnet 192.168.1.0 netmask 255.255.255.0 {
option subnet-mask 255.255.255.0;
option broadcast-address 192.168.1.255;
option routers 192.168.1.1;
option router-discovery true;
option domain-name-servers 8.8.8.8;
range dynamic-bootp 192.168.1.200 192.168.1.240;
next-server 192.168.0.140;
filename "pxelinux.0";
}
subnet 192.168.0.0 netmask 255.255.255.0 {
}
~~~~~~~~~~
But I cannot seem to get HTTP or other services to work on 192.168.1.x
I have the existing 192.168.0.x network and was wondering how gateway
requests should get from 192.168.1.x to 192.168.0.1 ?
Many thanks in advance,
Aaron

Adding new software on F15 beta
by Fred Smith
I don't seem to be able to find an "add new software" app on F15 beta,...
is it missing, or just hidden, or given a funny name?
Thanks!

Elantech touchpad broken in F15
by Pier Paolo
Even in Fedora 15 Elantech ETPS it is definetly broken as the scrolling
has an unpredictable "jumping" behaviour.
I found this page, but don't understand very much:
http://www.mjmwired.net/kernel/Documentation/input/elantech.txt.
And also i haven't a psmouse driver loaded.
That's the relevant Xorg log:

I try some tweaks through xorg.conf.d/51-elantech.conf:
Section "InputClass"
Identifier "touchpad catchall"
Driver "synaptics"
MatchIsTouchpad "on"
Option "TapButton1" "1"
Option "TapButton2" "2"
Option "TapButton3" "3"
Option "EmulateTwoFingerMinZ" "256"
Option "EmulateTwoFingerMinW" "0"
EndSection

screencast to youtube live
by Skunk Worx
Hi,
I see youtube has a "Live Beta" feature to share a webcam live with a
group of people.
Apparently Mac and Windows users can use a product called "manycam" to
screencast their desktops live on youtube.
Is there something like this available for Fedora?
Thanks,
John
