SSH can't connect
by Mickey
Wether I run NX (nomachine) or SSH I get the same error message, no
matter what host I try to connect to.
And on the host servers SSHd is running.
And so is the Client box.
Running NX
Error message: ssh: connect to host 70.236.39.98 port 22: Connection
timed out
Running $ ssh jim(a)70.236.39.98
ErrorMessage: ssh: connect to host 70.236.39.98 port 22: Connection

a sound problem
by 猫行天下
thank you,Stan,and everyone.
In fact, i uses fedora13.the uname -a returns:
Linux sc.sc 2.6.34.7-56.fc13.i686 #1 SMP Wed Sep 15 03:33:58 UTC 2010 i686 i686
i386 GNU/Linux
the version of Gnome is libgnome-2.30.0-1.fc13.i686
the version of pulseaudio is 0.9.21-6.fc13
er....some thing shamed me...the problem I have described seemd not so
correct,today when i logging in the console(tty),
as usual, the music is off. changed to the gnome,as usual,no change. but then i
logout the console and changes into the gnome,
the music *returns*.so,my question is, how can i change the settings to let the
music played even if i switched into the console(and logged in).
i know the wrong description is wasting our time..so sorry to everyone .
especially Stan.

Kernel errors
by Steve Blackwell
I got this error in logwatch this morning:
WARNING: Kernel Errors Present

I don't see any problems with my system. What does it mean? Google
wasn't particularly helpful.

what could "use up" X forwarding connections?
by Tom Horsley
Anyone have any clues about what could "use up" some resource
used to create a forwarded X connection (ssh -X)?
I've got these testbeds that run 24/7 on random collections
of both real and virtual machines, and they are all started
from inside a VNC session using ssh -X to get to the target
test machine. The theory is that any test which needs a X
server will be happy with the VNC server.
After running for a few months, tests sometime start failing
because they can't open the X server. Reboot the host (which
is running fedora 13) and recreate the VNC server and things
work again.
Seems like something is getting "used up" that the reboot
cleans up, but I haven't been able to find out what
that something is :-).

by Dj YB
Hello,
I am trying to achieve the next goal.
when I hit a shortcut like (Ctrl+Alt+T) the output of a certain script will be
written to where the cursor is.
so far I didn't find a way and am doing so using the clipboard.
if anyone know or have an idea that would be great.
Thanks in advance,
YB.

a sound problem
by 猫行天下
Hi,everyone,
I'm not sure why this happens, but the problem is when I'm in the
GUI(Gnome),the sound works pretty good. And if I play a music and change to the
console, while Login into the system, the sound is also works good. But when I
first changed into the console and Login before there is any music
playing(after boot), I can't sound it.
How can I deal with this problem? Thanks for any thoughts on this.

I copied the 'vsftpd.conf' and 'users' directory from my working F11 server
