How do you keep your online address-book?
by Timothy Murphy
What do people recommend for keeping a list of contacts
on the computer?
I presently use OpenLDAP, but I'm not completely happy with it.
I think my main requirements are:
1. It must be held on one computer, and be accessible from others.
2. There should be a simple GUI program to add contacts.
3. It should be possible to add contacts to and from mobile phones.
4. It should be reasonably compatible with KMail and other KDE applications.
5. It should be reasonably compatible with Windows XP.
6. It should be flexible, allowing additional fields to be added later.
I'm interested to know what the most popular method
of keeping an address-book online under Fedora.

Thunderbird config date non-compat.-
by Bob Goodwin
I've replaced F-10 on this computer with F-11 using the Omega live cd
and so far everything seems perfect for the stuff that I use. One of the
easiest Linux installs yet! And a lot of bandwidth was saved in doing
the updates! That's an important factor with the limited bandwidth usage
allocated by my ISP.
The version of Thunderbird provided however is not compatible with the
"config date" add-on which I want in order to display 24 hour local
times for both the sender and myself. The patch is not available for
this version. What to do? It appears that I need to replace with version
2.-something. Is there something I am missing here, am I unique in
needing 24 hour time displayed?

Now I want to have the Index which has the numbering list upto level 3.

Hi Anne,
Surely you have to be kidding about the "it's as easy as it always was" comment.
This is not easy. Especially when you use phrases like, "Use the desktop cashew".
WTF is that? (OK - I get testy before lunch time...;) Would you please be
kind enough to explain the steps to someone who doesn't know a desktop cashew from
a KDE activity? Thank you so much. Regards, Bruce

Fedora 11 Nautilus CD/DVD creator problem
by Paul Erickson
I am running Fedora 11 x86_64 with a Panasonic CD/DVD writer.
I am having a consistent issue with the Nautilus CD/DVD creator. After
clicking "burn to disk" Brassero is invoked to burn the data to disk,
and after the data is burned to the disk it goes into "Creating image
checksum" mode, and will sit there forever until I click "Cancel" Once
"Cancel" is clicked I get the "Data CD successfully burnt" message but
clicking on the desktop icon to unmount it, the icon remains and
repeated clicking has no effect. I can simply press the drive button and
the disk is ejected. Reinsertion shows that the disk is fine, where, if
anywhere should I report these bugs?
Applications such as K3B work fine.
Any other ideas would be appreciated.
