64bit firefox unstable
by Paolo Galtieri
The 64 bit version of Firefox from F12 is very unstable. I imported my
bookmarks from a .html file, and the bookmark list comes up fine, but when I
try to save a bookmark by clicking on "Bookmark This Page" from the bookmark
menu and then clicking on "Show all the boomarks folders" button FF
crashes. I've removed the 64 bit flash player, I've tried moving my
.mozilla directory out of the way and restarting FF but FF continues to
crash. If I download the 32bit version from firefox.com and try the same
thing it works fine, so the problem has to be related to the 64bit FF.
Note that the list of bookmarks has to be longer than what fits in the "Page
Bookmarked" dialog box list.
Anyone else see this?

F12: Missing Config Dialogue
by Dave Cross
There's a config dialogue box that I can't find in Fedora 12. I've
used it in the last few versions of Fedora. It's the dialogue box
controlling Window appearance. In particular I want the option that
controls the behaviour that's triggered when you double-click on a
title bar. I want to set it to roll-up the window.
What happened to this dialogue box? Is there any way to get it back?
Cheers,
Dave...

Re: How to install Fedora-12?
by Jackson Byers
I don't know anything about USB sticks.
But my experience on booting f11 installed on an external USB drive
may help you:
In my case my BIOS does not recognize the USB drive at all.
What I had to do was put the kernel (vmlinuz and initrd.img)
somewhere on my internal hdisks.
In my case I put them on sdb1 (I have 2 internal scsi hdisks),
referenced then in grub.conf as "root (hd1,0)"
For my f11 install,
I downloaded the f11 iso somewhere onto my internal hdisks,
and did a hard disk install to the USB disk.
The presence of the external USB, causes the scsi disks to be reordered
to sdb, sdc with the USB seen as sda for the anaconda installer.
This disk reordering does not extend to the above "root (hd1,0)":
I had to leave that just as if the USB disk is not connected
( because my BIOS doesn't see the USB disk).
This works. Of course you are then tied to an install
with the root fs on USB, and the kernel on internal hdisk.

kerneloops eating up cpu
I don't know what triggered this.
But I had just started security-only update, new kernel included.
That update finished. I haven't yet rebooted to try the new kernel.
Maybe safer to go back to previous ( ie one behind) instead to see
if that kerneloops is "fixed'?
The time diagnostic cant be correct 1280. minutes? or am i misreading it?
This machine has been hard-booted 2-3 times in last 2 days.
Once a power failure, others because of X freezing on me.
Advice?
go ahead and reboot with new kernel?
reboot with present kernel?
reboot with one older kernel?
thanks for any/all help

Where are gnome menu configuration files ?
by Bill Case
Hi;
I have posted this query to the gnome users list 4 or 5 days ago and
received no response. Sorry for the double posting.
I am about to replace Fedora 11 with Fedora 12.
I have re-configured my gnome panel menu (Applications Places System) so
that various applications' launchers appear under sub-menus different
from the default. The last couple of times that I have done a Fedora
new version install I have lost my menu reconfiguration.
And yes, I am fully backed up. But I can never seem to find all of the
files necessary to show my own menu re-configuration. Instead I always
get the new default menu installed and have to once again manually
reconfigure.
What files should I be sure to backup and/or what files do I have to
restore to get MY menu configuration back?
Just a URL for a site/page that explains would be helpful.

Reading elsewhere, people were asked if the following works:

It's still sitting there. No window or indicator for a nautilus window
is drawn.
[yes, I first asked about this issue in fedora-test-list, without a
solution so far].

How to get FlashPlayer working under 64bit/Fc11
by Reg Clemens
I have tried following the instructions, and have tried what I
consider reasonalble alternatives, but I have yet to get flash-reader
working on my 64bit machine under firefox.
The libflashplayer.so that I download appears to be a 32bit shared object
which in itself seems suspect.
Can someone PLEASE give me detailed instructions on how to get flash-player
working on this machine, or point me as some (working) instructions on the web.
Thanks in advance,- this just isnt working...
