gvim syntax highlighting on FC9
by Gary Stainburn
Hi folks.
In my php files I have either at the top or the bottom of the file the
following:
<? // vim: ft=php nowrap ai et
which has always forced php syntax highlighting instead of html when editing
the files.
I have just upgraded one of my servers to FC9 with vim 7.1 and this has
stopped working - it now uses html syntax highlighting.
Anyone know what I need to do to get this working properly again.
Ta

Dear All,
After having upgraded from F9 to F10, the boot is performed in text

Thanks in advance,

F9-F10 preupgrade worked, but repos point to F9
by Ted Roche
Hi, folks:
I used the preupgrade (after doing a yum update preupgrade to get the
1.0 version) to upgrade F9 to F10 on my ThinkPad T61 and all appears
to be running quite well. However, when I went to try out the new
NetBeans feature, I couldn't find it listed. Checking the Software
Sources options in the Package Manager for GNOME, I see that I'm still
pointing to the F9 repositories. I know I could just hack the
/etc/yum.repos.d files, but is there a more correct way to switch to
the new repositories?

FWIW: No complaints about preupgrade here
by Alan Evans
Nobody ever complains when something works right, so I thought I'd
lead by example. And there's been a number of messages lately
reporting that preupgrade doesn't work right.
Upgrades typically take a long time, so I figured the long holiday
weekend was the perfect opportunity. I uncharacteristically decided to
risk doing the entire process remotely, so I didn't even need to drive
to work.
>From home, I logged into my development machine at work. executed
preupgrade-cli, which proceeded to download 979 packages and told me
to reboot to complete the upgrade. Held my breath and typed "shutdown
-r now" and waited. At first, I thought it screwed up because 20
minutes later I still couldn't log into my machine. I despaired of the
disaster I was going to find when I went back to work Monday.
But this morning, I made another attempt at contact. To my delight,
the machine was responding to pings and I was able to log in. From
what I can tell, the upgrade was a complete success. All services on
the machine seem to be running as expected.
So I completely expect to be running a shiny new Fedora 10 next week
with virtually no fuss. Thanks, everyone, for writing great software!

Assorted F10 problems
by William John Murray
F10 seems very nice. But there are problems.
In no order of importance:
*) kqemu crahes every hour
kqemu: aborting: Unexpected exception 0x0d in monitor space
Possibly related to changing allocated memory of guest?
*) Bluetooth was not enabled after upgrade. Needed manual start.
Push pics from phone no longer works - but can now browse phone
*) No nice sun on booting my desktop. Just a coloured bar
Boot options identical to laptop, which works.
*) Laptop suspend frequently does not unsuspend
This is 'just' the display, but ctr-alt-backspace does
nothing, only ssh in works.
*) No fglrx for my ATI card (there was in F9:
kmod-fglrx-2.6.27.5-41.fc9.i686-8.543-0.3.8.11beta.fc9.7.i686
*) gspca_ov519 module does not support kopete
much talk about libv4l, on google, but this is installed.
Any ideas with any of these anyone?

HELP (RPM - what package a file is from)
by Reg Clemens
I posted this question several hours ago, but it has never shown up on
the list,- here we go again...
How do I find out what RPM package a given file is from?
I know I knew how to do this at one time, but Ive reread the RPM
MAN page 3 times and I cant find the right magic.
In particular, I would like to know what package
/usr/bin/htmlview
is in, so I can load that package in the OS in a different partition.

Where do I find the updated (for Fedora 10) repositories (Packman and
whatever other popular repositories I'll need)?
Thanks!

fc10 and loss of terminal interface ?
by Gregory P. Ennis
I installed an x64 fc10 yesterday and am still getting it setup with all
my old files. I was surprised that I could not switch to a terminal
interface screen from the gui or the login screen. Normally by pressing
<cntrl><alt>F1 through F6 we could use one of 6 separate terminal
interface screens, but these do not work on my fc10 box.
Is this gone or can I configure it to keep these 6 different screens.

error while loading shared libraries
by Patrick Dupre
Hello,
Trying to clone my machine (Fedora 7), I get errors like:
error while loading shared libraries ....
I made cp -a
Is it due to selinux like I read on the web ?
Copying selinux-files with cp = bad
Copying selinux-files with star = good.
I do not understand.
Regards.
