Dear All,
After install and config the turba package with IMP...
The is a problem about the Character Set ( Collation ) with DB Server (
MySQL )...
So, which php files ( config ) need to be the following :
SET NAMES 'big5';
PS : Due to the default collation from the MySQL ( DB Server ) is using utf8.
Edward.

video hangs with compiz or beryl enabled
by Manu G.V
hi..
I have installed nvidia driver(onboard Geforce go 6150 graphics
card). When I play movies and other videos with compiz or beryl
disabled everything works fine and never display freezes. But when I
enable compiz/beryl, only Xorg consumes about 70% processor and hangs
for a while. When I play videos the audio continues in the background
and display freezes completely except movement of mouse cursor.
Sometimes with video not running also the display freezes. I just
cannot keep compiz/beryl enabled. Can anyone please tell me what is
the problem? Or is it a problem with nvidia driver itself?
thanks in advance for your help.
I am Fedora core 6 user.

fglrx and PreInitDAL Failed - solved
by DJ Delorie
I *finally* found someone who solved and noted the solution to my
long-standing problem using fglrx drivers with FC6.
The solution: take out the vga= option in grub.conf.
I had added it to get more characters in the text console, and it
caused me to lose the X resolution! Sigh.

Trying to get X on a server
by Wade Hampton
I have a server updated to FC6 from FC6. I am trying to add X to it
but am having problems. The server is a SuperMicro p8sct with Intel
video. When I try to start X, I get:
GARTInit: Unable to open /dev/agpgard (no such device)
AIGLX: Screen 0 is not DRI capable
I used mknod to make the device:
mknod /dev/agpgart c 10 175
I have also made sure that the i810 module is loaded.
The system-config-display program works and starts X. It recognizes
the intel card and my LCD monitor so at least that much is working.
Could I need to install another package, module, or something?

Fedora 5 or Fedora 6
by frank wang
Hi,
Since I am not very familiar with Linux, I have to ask so many simple
questions before to switch to linux.
I have installed both fedora 5 and fedora 6 on vmware to test them.
Until now, I am happy with fedora 5 since it does not give me any
problem. Fedora 6 could not run yum and could not get on
www.gmail.com. It seems Fedora 6 has some problem.
Here is the question. If I want to install fedora 5, what do I miss?
Thanks
Frank

sounds stopped suddenly?
by Phil
So my sound does not work... I am using FC6.
It used to work fine.
Is there a way to reinstall all the sound related stuff? How do I do that?
Any suggestions?

core7 nvidia
by Olle Mårtensson
Hi
I've just installed the development version 3 of fedora. I'm very
impressed with the artwork in this soon to come release. Some
polishing with the installation interface has been done, and the
result is great. I haven't run into any serious bugs yet but I hope to
help catching by running this beta at home. I haven't been successful
in installing nvidia drivers although the installation program runs
fine( it compiles the driver module ). This is how the installation
went down:
* init 3
* sh NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-9755-pkg1.run
* compiles the module against kernel source just fine
* changes xorg.conf by adding "load xgl" and by changing the video
driver from "nv" to "nvidia"
After this steps I ran modprobe nvidia, it loads and lsmod | grep
nvidia confirms it. I smiled a bit over the relative easiness of
installing nvidia drivers these days and fired off init 5. As I stated
above it doesn't work and the error message is:
(II) LoadModule: "glx"
(WW) Warning, couldn't open module glx
(II) UnloadModule: "glx"
(EE) Failed to load module "glx" (module does not exist, 0)
(II) LoadModule: "nvidia"
(WW) Warning, couldn't open module nvidia
(II) UnloadModule: "nvidia"
(EE) Failed to load module "nvidia" (module does not exist, 0)
Maybe this can be a selinux issue? Anyway help is appreciated.

FC6 - gnome-terminal
by Ken Dyke
FYI,
A recent update broke gnome-terminal. Error message libvte.so.4 file
not found.
Creating a symlink /usr/lib/libvte.so.4 -> /usr/lib/libvte.so.9.7.1
fixed it.
P.S. If you want me to see a reply to this message include my addr in

Thank you,
