Suse 10.1 guest under fc5 Xen?
by David
Has anyone installed a Suse 10.1 guest under fc5? There's
a nice quickstart guide for running a Fedora guest under fc5:
http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/FedoraXenQuickstartFC5
But I haven't found any documentation on installing a Suse
guest. I've never used Xen before, but it seems that the
guest installation process requires a bit more experience
than Vmware. My naive hope was that any Xen-aware
Linux distribution would install as a guest much like
Vmware where you get a little window that looks like
you're doing a native installation. If I understand
correctly, this is more or less true, but only after you
get past a few hurdles. /usr/sbin/xenguest-install.py
helps you over these hurdles if you're installing an fc guest.
Or is there a /usr/sbin/xenanyguest-install.py equivalent
that I haven't found. ;)
Thanks...
David

Missing Dependency
by Bob Fletcher
Hello,
I am new to Linux/Unix and new to FC5.
I have run PUP several time over the past few weeks, and all went well.
Yesterday, however, I received a Dependency Resolution error.
So I decided to try YUM (actually Yum Extender), but got the same error.
"Missing Dependency: geronimo-specs = 1.0-0.M2.2jpp_7fc is needed by
package geronimo-specs-compat"
I don't think this is important to me right now, but it raises the
question. What should I do in this case?
I do not know how to control the different repositories searched, but
there are a lot of listings in /etc/yum.repos.d.
Thanks,
Bob

Online diary/Journal program(OT)
by िऩऩाद
Hi
This is a off topic
I need to create a software which will operate as an online diary or
journal. No frills inthis application atleast initially and should be
console operated basically. My basic purpose is to just start the
application and type in happennings for today. Also some date manipulation
would be required like retreiving entries for 2 days prior to today etc.
How do i go abt this i.e
Which programming language
What database or txt file would be enough
I want this to be a learning experience.
I have very minimal exp in programming especially(C)
Any suggestions are welcome
