OT-Cobalt Install CD
by Mark Sargent
Hi All,
I am posting this just to see if anyone has a clue. I got the following
errors when trying to do a netboot to reinstall on a Cobalt RaQ. Anyway,
I know it's not Fedora specific, but thought maybe someone may
understand the error stuff, as the Cobalt OS is a Linux based one.
hdc : bad access : block = 1067788, Count = 2
end_request : I/O error, dev 16:00, sector 1067788
Thanx if anyone can steer me in the right direction. Cheers.
Mark Sargent.

I can read it, and unfortunatly it looks like gibberish that I can not
solve. But if anyone wants to try and figure out what he wants, be my
guest.
It reads as follows:
You had to use this trick to create a boot of nobody program that to
run like a demon in your system at the beginning of same.
I may be a bit off, but there you go...

FC3: kernel panic with latest kernel and updates
by Globe Trotter
Hi,
I updated the kernel to the latest official FC3 release using yum. After that,
yum also informed me that several versions of netpbm needed to be updated which
I did. However, on rebooting the machine results in kernel panic.
The exact words are as follows:
......
Uncompressing Linux....OK, done.
Audit (1117587386.484:0) initialized.
Redhat nash version 4.1.18 starting.
Enforcing mode requested but no policy loaded.
Halting now.
Kernel-panic -not starting:
Attempted to hide unit.
What exactly does all this mean, and how do I fix this?
Many thanks and best wishes!

Upgrade to FC4 from FC3 without having to re download and then burn cds and recreate partition?
by Sam Johnson
Hello,
I am very excited about the soon release of Fedora Core 4. However, I
want to upgrade from Fedora Core 3 in an easier way than doing the
procedure that is required for the first install you do, downloading
all of the ISOs, then burning them to discs, and then use Disk Druid
to erase partition (and all of my lovely data) and recreate it.
I hear of alot of people saying that they upgraded, and am curious
about how it is done.
Thank you,

keyboard stops working
by Xiaotian Sun
Hi,
I'm having a weird problem: the keyboard doesn't work any more after
FC3 boots. That is, I can enter CMOS and use the keyboard to change
settings. But once FC3 boots, keyboard stops working, no matter in
the X mode or in the text mode.
I'm using a normal PS/2 keyboard on a Dell Dimension 8250 computer.
Thanks,
Xiaotian
