Don't use the "notrust" parameter, its meaning has changed in recent
ntpd
versions: http://www.eecis.udel.edu/~mills/ntp/html/accopt.html

NTP
by Brian D. McGrew
Good afternoon,
I've got ntpd running on a machine and syncing with *.ntp.org on a
regular basis. How do I go about getting all the other Linux boxes on
the network to sync to my local server? Is it as simple as 'Enable NTP
Broadcast'? Or is there something else I need to do?
I know this is a 'Linux' list but Linux people tend to know more than
Windows people ... Does anyone know an easy way to get the Windows boxes
to sync time to the same server?
Thanks,

disk space tools
by Mark Haney
What are some of the recommended disk space analysis tools for Fedora?
I have a couple of large SAN arrays I need to go through and see which
directories are the biggest, etc. What are some tools for linux that
will give me directory sizes and total space used by a specific user, etc?

OT: what speed to choose for DVD disks
by Paul Smith
Dear All
There are in the market several DVD+R disks, with different speeds.
What should it be the criterion to choose the DVD disks? Of course,
the fastest one should be the elected, but does not it pose a problem
of compatibility with the players? For instance, with 8x disks, my
computer DVD player gets very noisy (although working fine). Can it
damage the player?
Thanks in advance,
Paul

Am I to understand that the image exceeds disc in just ~17kb?!
What is the size with which I can create my iso-files to burn it on
another machine and be sure it fits a disc size!? Thank You!

Laptop dual head problems
by Rod Heyd
I'm having some trouble getting dual heads working properly on my laptop.
I have an HP dv4000 with an i915 chip set.
I've got dual head sort of working, but it's certainly not working the way I
want, and I think I need a second
pair of eyes to help me see what's wrong.
The laptop display is fine, and works just as expected. But I've got two
problems with the external monitor.
1. The external monitor is mirroring the laptop display, which I don't want,
I want it to be placed "LeftOf" my laptop display.
2. The display on the external monitor vibrates, as though the entire
desktop shifts left and right 2 or 3 pixels, making the display very blurry
and virtually unreadable.
Does any see what I'm missing?
Thanks!
Rod
