Aborted
software is uptodate

monitor remote rpm database
by Nikhil
Hi All ,
Happy Holidays :)
I want to know how can I monitor remote machines rpm database , so
that when ever a user on that machine installs a new rpm on the
system, thinking that I have root access to the remote machine .
when I tried to search in install.log which is in /root directory , it
is created only when te distribution is installed and thereby not
updated ,
Where is the path of the rpm database (gdbm) files that rpm maintains
and how do I read them ( what could be the keys to read the gdbm
files) and from them generate the reports and send a mail to root or a
groupmail.
Regards,
Nikhil.

[OT] Fedora-List Trivia - # of Messages in 1 Year
by Ow Mun Heng
Hi all,
This is _very_ offtrack, but my `whom must be obeyed` was commenting on
the # of messages she see in my evolution folders. _esp_ the Fedora List
folder. It contained like 50,882 messages, this was from Dec 31 2003
till today. Mind you, I've already deleted close to perhaps 1K to 2K
messages.
I've to date, read through 8K messages. Measly number.
/end of trivia.

Please respond to
For users of Fedora
Core releases
I appended "acpi=off apm=on" to the kernel line but still received the
message that APM is not supported by the kernel.
I also noticed that, when I tried to invoke apm, my fan never stopped
running. Thanks to a previous message, I know my notebook (HP ze4560)
does not provide apm. (Does any one think a newer BIOS may help this?)
So I went back to acpi. The command "echo 3 > /proc/acpi/sleep" put the
system to sleep. But, I was not able to wake it up. I had to do a hard
reboot.
Tough luck! But my wholehearted thanks for the discussions and helpful
comments.

Some sites don't work with Firefox (FC3)?
by Dave
OK, here's an interesting glitch I have no clue about. Several websites I
tried today don't like Firefox. Trying to access www.sfbc.com (Science
Fiction Book Club), I get "Bad request. Your browser sent a query this server
could not understand." Trying to get to www.woodline.com (router bits), I
get just plain "Bad request"
So is this a glitch with Firefox, or are the servers on the other end trying
to match the browser? Both sites work with Konqueror.

I don't think so. Make sure you have the x86_64 version uninstalled
"yum remove firefox" It seems that I got a similar error when I tried
to install the i386 version along with the x86_64 one. If it still
doesn't work, you can always grab it from a repository, for instance:

VI highlighting 'echo'
by Maciej
Hi everyone,
I have no idea how I activated this ... but while writing some easy
shell scripts the VI editor highlights the word 'echo' so the background
is orange. How can I remove this option? I already used man vi and
the :help command in VI but found nothing.
By the way, do you know how I can edit words in my spell checker
database of 'Evolution Mail'? Or is 'EM' taking some other databases
which I can edit (from 'OpenOffice' for example)?
