koji error (certificate revoked)
by Neal Becker
I'm sure I went through the process a few weeks back, I have a ~/.fedora.cert dated 8/24/08 and ~/.fedora-server-ca.cert dated 8/20/08 and
~/.fedora-uploaded-ca.cert 8/20/08.
I just tried to do make tag build and got:
/usr/bin/koji build dist-f10 'cvs://cvs.fedoraproject.org/cvs/pkgs?rpms/igraph/devel#igraph-0_5-14_fc10'
Error: [('SSL routines', 'SSL3_READ_BYTES', 'sslv3 alert certificate revoked'), ('SSL routines', 'SSL3_WRITE_BYTES', 'ssl handshake failure')]
What do I need to do?

The state of resolv.conf
by Ahmed Kamal
I have an itch. I connect to work using openvpn. Works great, except that
openvpn does not modify resolv.conf to add work's dns servers (now available
through vpn). It does that on Windows though! I cannot expect openvpn or
(any other application) to simply overwrite /etc/resolv.conf at will, but
what is fedora missing to get an elegant solution to this problem ?

Planned power outage in Raleigh, NC and the release date of beta
by Jesse Keating
Yesterday I became aware of a planned 24+ hour power outage of Red Hat's
Raleigh HQ offices. Normally this wouldn't have much impact at all upon
Fedora, however our primary Internet2 mirror seed is located there, and
our ability to get Fedora 10 Beta properly staged to our mirrors will be
severely diminished. As such, I propose that we delay the release of
Fedora 10 Beta from Tuesday Sept 23 to Thursday Sept 25. This should
give us enough days clear of the outage to properly stage the Beta bits
for our release.

Re: Interested in Fedora on Smaller Machines?
by Jonathan Roberts
I'm a bit late to this thread, but....
Me and Yaakov Nemoy have packaged the Ubuntu netbook applications,
such as the new launcher, window picker etc. They're now waiting for
review to get into Fedora, and if anyone would like to help out here,
that would be great! Bug numbers are below:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=451768
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=451771
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=451772
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=451773
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=462736
Also, this evening I plan to work on creating a minimal spin with
these packages on and configured to launch by default, as a first step
towards creating a Fedora Netbook/Mini spin.
I realise there are loads of different ways we could approach this,
and I really like the idea of trying to do a similar spin with Sugar
as the interface, but this is where I'm going to be focussing my
attention for now.
Can I suggest that if people are interested in starting a SIG wrt
this, then we should arrange to have a meeting at some point in the
near future?

"make build" hanging
by Anthony Green
I probably missed something important that I was supposed to do after
The Incident, because ever since then "make build" on my packages simply
sits there hanging without any output. Any suggestions?

Non-X text mode console
by David A. Wheeler
I routinely use text mode console without X, for a
variety of reasons. For example:
* I have a number of systems (servers) at runlevel 3
* console is critically important when X fails. "Log in with ssh"
doesn't work when ssh or the network fails.
* It's often much simpler to quickly log in to do a small task
rather than waiting for all the X + desktop startup stuff
* I have some systems that have GUIs but not X at all
(e.g., use DirectFB directly to the framebuffer)... and
I sometimes need a recovery method, just like I do for X
I think it's clear from this discussion here that many people DO
find non-X console mode useful, and thus, it shouldn't be removed:
Dominik 'Rathann' Mierzejewski:
> It does matter, since the removal affects me (and some other people, apparently),
> while just keeping it means it will continue to work as it does now.
The complaints about non-X console mode failing to support
"multiple fonts" are irrelevant. I do not WANT text-mode
console to support multiple fonts; that would interfere with
console mode's advantages (e.g., small size, often works even when
X fails). When I want fonts, I'll use X.
