rhgb vs ?
by Mike Chambers
I know rhgb is being removed and a quicker gdm login process is taking
over, or at least something is? I updated my system to rawhide and saw
something replace rhgb? What package is that and can it be involved in
the kernel options in grub like rhgb used to?

Need help with clisp on ppc
by Gérard Milmeister
I was trying to build the latest clisp release 2.45 for F9+. i386 and
x86_64 seem fine, but again on ppc the fails. Could someone with ppc
experience look into this (ppc64 is still disabled, anyways). The
current spec is found in the F-9 cvs branch.

I realise that openjdk doesn't strictly meet the stated conditions,
but surely close enough that I can yell...
WHERE ARE THE JBOSS PACKAGES IN FEDORA?
Or, are there any secret redhat plans/projects to move the existing
packages from JBEAP into Fedora (and hopefully into EPEL too)? It
seems that a large chunk of the work has been done already.

That's not a good idea. Although it's caused by vfat improvements, I would
suggest to keep the old interface.
Long long ago, there was a long discussion about interface change on LKML. It's
a bad idea to change interfaces or API when they become de facto.

Planned libOSMesa changes
by Adam Jackson
We currently have libOSMesa's soname pinned at libOSMesa.so.6 rather
than upstream's libOSMesa.so.7, because there was no effective ABI
change between the two. This is kind of lame.
We are also building three copies of libOSMesa, one for each of 8, 16,
and 32 bits per pixel. This is wasteful since, I believe as of Mesa
6.5.something, it's possible to build a libOSMesa that can do all three
depths.
So I'd like to fix both of these things in F10. I'd like to ship
exactly one copy of the library, built for all three depths, with an
soname of libOSMesa.so.7.
Repoquery tells me the following packages will be affected:
kbiof - owned by oddsocks (Ian Chapman)
paraview - owned by orion (Orion Poplawski)
vtk - owned by athimm (Axel Thimm)
So if this is you, consider yourself informed, and please raise
objections soon if at all.

Notice: F7 EOL on 2008-06-13
by Bill Nottingham
This is a reminder that F7 goes EOL on 2008-06-13. If you have any
critical updates lingering in testing, you may want to have them
moved final before then. Then again, there hopefully aren't too many
updates at this point...

Yes the file system changing might be the point. There is a "%define image_install_path boot/efi/EFI/redhat" for ia64 in kernel.spec since fc4.
So the kernel dir was always /boot/efi/EFI/redhat.
