Searching Revier for inadyn-mt
by Jochen Schmitt
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA1
Hallo,
becouse inatech doesn't host the source for the inadyn programm, I have
searched for a successor project which I have found on sourceforge.net.
During the request for renaming the application, I have got the
advice to start a new review for the successor application, so I have
started the following review request:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=441899
Unfortunately, I didn't found any reviewer until now, so I want to ask
on this
place, if anyone is willing to take this review request.
Best Regards:
Jochen Schmitt

Since skencil no longer works with tcltk 8.5, I will orphan it. It has

Requirements gathering for new package source control
by Jesse Keating
At the upcoming FUDCon I plan to hold a session or two regarding
requirements and discussions about the future of our package source
control. This is NOT a time to argue about one SCM being "better" than
another. I don't really want to hear any SCM names at all, rather I'm
interested purely in only what we require and what we'd like out of our
package source control. I'm sending this mail to get people thinking
about it, and to give the people who won't be at FUDCon a chance at
dropping their thoughts in.
To get the ball rolling, here are a few of my requirements:
Be able to track patches separately from the upstream source so that
source rpms can easily be created.
Be able to have a continuous development "branch"
Be able to create release "branches" for doing updates for existing
Fedora releases. Release "branches" should inherit history of the repo
up until the release happened.
Be able to re-create source rpm used to generate any shipped build at
any time later, including same version of any helper scripts or metadata
used.
Be able to checkout only a given package and not the entire package tree
Be able to support fine grained enough rights down to different release
"branches" of a given package
be able to be queried and pulled from anonymously (by the buildsystem,
by the web, etc.
Be able to trigger scripts such as pre/post commit
be able to reliably disseminate commits as they happen to a selected
group of people (per package & branch)
Be useful for offline development
Cheap "branches"
Consistency across all modules for scripted actions like rebuilds
easy between-branch merging for those who like to ship the same source
rpm everywhere
ideally, not rely on magic 'branch' files for the build & tag-fu to work
I'll be gathering feedback over the next few days and putting them into
a not as of yet created wiki page.
Thank you all for your thoughtful consideration.

automating updates
by Neal Becker
I'm trying to automate the upstream updates of my packages (somewhat). The
procedure seems to be:
1. In devel:
1.1 make new-sources
1.2 update .spec
1.3 cvs ci -m 'update to xxx'
1.4 make tag build
2. cp -l -f .spec sources .cvsignore ../F9
cp -l -f .spec sources .cvsignore ../F9
3. for n in 9 8; do ( cd F-$n; cvs ci -m 'update to 1.0.1' && make tag build
&& bodhi -n -r F$n -t enhancement mercurial-1.0.1-4.fc$n ); done
What's not automated?
Howto get the current tag (e.g., mercurial-1.0.1-4.fc9)?
Optional - extract cvs ci message from spec changelog
Howto get bodhi to stop asking for a password?

man-pages-da
by Ivana Varekova
Hello,
I "own" man-pages-da and for now this package consists of 7 translated
man-pages. I think it would be better if some Danish guy look after this
package and perhaps try to translate more man-pages, I'm not sure
whether there is no new man-pages-da upstream but I can't find any but I
can't speak Danish - so some native speaker could be more successful.
Is there anybody who is willing to look after this package?
Thanks.

Need package reviewer and sponsor for libspe2 and Cell packages
by Jochen Roth
Hi all,
I need someone who volunteers to make the review for the libspe2 package.
Libspe2 is the SPE Runtime Management Library for the Cell Broadband
Engine Architecture.
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=442507
We have plans to add further Cell related packages to Fedora. I'll open
up a discussion about the spu-gcc and spu-binutils packages on this list
soon. Our goal is to have complete toolchain support for developing
applications on the PS3 and Cell based systems.
It will be my first package in Fedora, so I'd need a sponsor as well.
Thanks for your help.

What's causing this?
I also tried to reproduce this locally, but running make mockbuild, but I
only got an empty build log.

documenting process for packages renamed upstream
by Jens-Ulrik Petersen
Is the process for renaming packages in fedora that have been renamed
upstream document on the wiki? I haven't been able to find any
description of our process in that case.
I think it happens often enough that the process should be written down.
As I understand it a new package review is not required in the case but
cvsadmin requests are needed to create the new package.
