No Joy From Attempted Hard Disk Install With T3
by Janina Sajka
I just attempted to install FC5T3 via hard disk and got the complaint
about repo data. Just to be sure I tried both from the DVD iso and the 5
disc iso set.
Is it just me? Have others succeeded installing from iso files on
another hd partition? It would be nice for this to be working whith the
FC5 release, of course.

Help Needed: FC5 Blocker List and Rawhide Install Testing
by Warren Togami
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/showdependencytree.cgi?id=150222&hid...
We are now attempting to fix some last minute problems. Your help would
be greatly appreciated in finding solutions for the problems listed in
the above FC5 Blocker list.
Your testing of rawhide nightly tree installs (while not guaranteed to
work) is very valuable at this point. We need to know if there are any
critical installation issues that would effect FC5 install, like the
nasty Bug #159026. Please also test upgrades of FC3 or FC4 systems to
the nightly rawhide tree and report any problems that you see to Bugzilla.
Bugzilla is the official and best way to get reports to the developers.
Complaints posted only to a mailing list are very likely to be lost in
the bulk. Bug reports have status, comments and resolution states so at
least there is a chance of tracking your issue.
Thank you for using Fedora.

I assume you mean "fixing" their driver by adding a copy of
print_tainted function, right?
Am I missing any other solution?

Lower Window Keybinding
by Thomas J. Baker
A while back my lower-window keybinding stopped working and I filed a
bug against metacity. Turns out it wasn't metacity because it started
working after an update and metacity hadn't changed. Well, it's back and
even though metacity has been updated, I don't believe it's metacity's
fault given past history.
So when I type my lower-window keybinding on a window I want lowered,
all that happens is the window becomes unfocused. It does not lower and
it's not clear where the focus goes.
Anyone else having this problem? Anyone care to guess which component
might be responsible if it's not metacity?

Recent kernels hang on resume
by Bojan Smojver
Just for the record, the recent kernels (2032 and above it would seem),
hang occasionally on resume on my notebook (this is after suspend to
disk with the vanilla kernel code). The last output is:
Stopping tasks: =
I'm attaching the lspci output for hardware reference. Full specs of the
notebook are here:
http://www.rexursive.com/articles/linuxonhpze4201.html
The suspend to disk/resume first started working with 2.6.15-1.1909_FC5,
when a fix for ATI graphics suspend code was committed to the vanilla
kernel. Things now appear to be broken again. I'm just not sure if
anyone else is seeing this on their hardware, or if it's specific to
this machine.

Fedora Core 5 Status
by Jeremy Katz
Due to circumstances outside of our control, we're going to be unable to
keep to the scheduled date of March 15th for the release of FC5 and
instead are going to have to make the release date Monday, March 20th.
While unfortunate in some ways, this gives us the opportunity to pull in
the final GNOME 2.14 tarballs which should be available on Monday
assuming the changes are suitably minor.
