The Fedora Project's mission is to lead the advancement of free and
open source software and content as a collaborative community.
Personally I don't care about what it could mean to others, FAD is our
internal abbreviation for a specific event. It's not necessary people who
are not involved in the community understand it, because we can/should
promote the event with the full name. So a "Python 3 FAD" becomes a
"Python
3 activity day" which is auto-explaining, no needs to invent new acronyms
here.
