I believe these keys interact directly with the hardware or BIOS, so
which O/S you are running will not affect them.
Similarly for laptop function keys that turn the speakers up and down,
or enable/disable wireless devices like inbuilt wifi or bluetooth.

Laptops usually have function keys to change the brightness of
the LCD.
For your model, it looks like holding "Fn" and using F9 and
F10 will
change the LCD brightness.
