Yes, interesting, but on this computer which uses XFCE [changed
using
switchdesk]
I see the following?
cat /etc/sysconfig/desktop
>> DESKTOP="GNOME"
>> DISPLAYMANAGER="GNOME"
>> EOF
Perhaps >> denotes comment?
I installed Gnome and KDE but normally use neither ...
I have
[tim@elizabeth ~]$ cat /etc/sysconfig/desktop
DESKTOP="KDE"
DISPLAYMANAGER="KDE"
I changed from GNOME by editing this file.
I guess as you suggest that ">>" means the line is ignored.
