Does anyone have any experience with multiple sound cards in a PC

different MP3 files to each card?

I have played multiple files through the same sound card and have found
that
the issue to be more of buss/cpu/hard drive/buffer throughput.
I would check Alsa out for multiple sound cards and sound processing.
