Earlier today I was asked about viewing catch-up TV programmes (UK) at the ITV Player site (http://www.itv.com/ITVPlayer/?intcmp=NAV_1002).
I found that a necessary plugin was Silverlight - but although this seems to be available via the Moonlight supported platforms list at least for F9 (http://mono-project.com/MoonlightSupportedPlatforms) this did not work for Firefox in F10 on a laptop I have.
After poking around I found that very recently there have been moves to build mono with -moonlight (https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=492048) and there appears to be a build happening or about to happen for rpmfusion.
Does anyone have a way to view the ITV player content in F10 with existing tools - or will we have to wait for the appropriate packages from rpmfusion?
Thanks...

I am running F10 and rawhide, I installed the Silverlight plugin (and connected codecs from Microsoft). But I cannot see the ITV Player site...I am sure that it is working as I can see for example www.rai.tv site..
Also I cannot understand why it suggests to install Microsoft Silverlight as it is already installed...

Was this in rawhide or F10? Silverlight is not installed in Firefox in F10 in my system!
Also I have flash-plugin installed but I don't know if this will conflict with any silverlight plugin? Presumably flash-plugin is not able to view the video in the ITV Player website? I must admit I am a bit confused as to what is actually needed to view the video?

I have installed same plugin on two F11 machines and one F10 machine: as it is a plugin of Firefox, I assume that it doesn't mind about the OS. And it works fine: I have also Flash plugin and there is no conflict. Nevertheless I can't see your link, I was told that not always it works. There is no plugin in rpmfusion at the moment, I doubt that we will ever have one

After installing Fedora 10, my monior goes to sleep in about two seconds. If I turn the monitor off and on I see the desktop and can use mouse, pulldowns. But the the monitor goes back to sleep after another 2 seconds...Is this a setup issue?

OK if you go to www.itv.com and then click on the "ITV PLayer" menu item at the top near the left then maybe that will work better?
I have several extensions in Firefox (noscript, adblock plus and refcontrol) so maybe they are giving problems with this site for me.....

Maybe they are restricting it to UK connections? If you are outside the UK maybe that is the reason?

FWIW, I installed Moonlight from the link I get bounced to when I hit the Install Silverlight button. I go back and it still tells me to install Silverlight, so I'm guessing that ITV Player can't work out I have it installed (or possibly it's requiring Silverlight 2).
If it's anything like BBC iPlayer, it's restricted to UK connections - although the argument for that is that only the UK License Payers pay for the BBC content. I am guessing that the reason for ITV is due to advertising or contractual requirements. There's not much good on ITV though...

I'm in the UK. The BBC iplayer works fine on this Mandriva laptop (KDE 4.1.3) but like everyone else, all I get on the itv one is a prompt to install Silverlight.
