I have got a ATI Radeon 9200SE RV280 adapter.
I have ran all the drivers for the ATI cards
What does that mean? ("ran all the drivers")
You installed F8 successfully, then bootet the first time.
What happened?
but when it tryies to
startx the card goes totally out of sink.
When exactly?
Have you tried "system-config-display --reconfig" yet?
I even installed the kmod-fglrx and setup xorg.conf.
This only adds to the confusion. It is more interesting what you get on an
up-to-date Fedora 8 with system-config-display and no added 3rd party
packages that might mess up the installation and configuration.
I did a lspci -v and comes up as:
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller : ATI Radeon 9200SE RV280
01:00.1 Display controller: ATI Radeon 9200SE RV280
Don't use -v when you cut off the verbose output.
The ATI Radeon 9200 series is pretty normal and widespread.
xorg-x11-drv-ati is correct for those cards.
Why would it show it as two different devices ??
Is it dual-head capable?
