Just to restate the problem -- when I start my linux box I do NOT
manually
attempt to start sshd. If I attempt to ssh into my linux box, I get a timeout
error. If I check the \var\log\secure, I get the error about "address is
already in use." I never see an error on-screen.
chkconfig --list sshd --> automatic start in your runlevel?
service sshd status --> ssh daemon started?
iptables -nvL | grep "22" --> port 22 open or closed with DROP?
If that does not help run the daemon and the client with debug switches.
The error message in the log comes from IPv6 binding attempt (see the
archive).
(btw. UNIX/LINUX uses forward slashes: )
