Sometimes my printer enters into a "Paused" state, and this
is how I
fix it:
In a browser window address bar: localhost:631
CUPs appears. Select "Administration" from the top menu bar
Click the button for "Manage Printers"
Select the affected printer
It should display the printer status, in my case: "Officejet (Paused,
Accepting Jobs, Not Shared)"
Select the "Maintenance" drop down and click "Resume Printer"
You may be asked to login with a user with sufficient privileges,
yourself or root.
if it's a good day, it should say "Printer OfficeJet has been
resumed."
You might want to check what your configuration settings are for what
the printer does after an error (pause, continue, etc).
