Has this ever happened to anyone else?
Every time I start xsane, I lose the ability to print to my printer and
I have to reboot my computer to regain the ability to print. Both the
printer and the scanner are daisy chained off of the parallel port.
First in the chain is the scanner, which is an HP ScanJet 3200C and the
printer is an HP DeskJet 812C. I've tried restarting CUPS and even
deleting and re-adding the printer, but those don't seem to work. Does
anyone else have any ideas?
The software versions I'm using are:
sane-backends 1.0.15-9
xsane 0.95-3
cups 1.1.23-15.1
Never mind, I figured it out. The module ppdev was interfering with my
ability to print. I simply stopped cups, rmmod'ed ppdev along with lp,
parport_pc and parport, then modprobed lp, parport_pc and parport and
then restarted cups.
