Be careful:
you have to
- expand the partition sdd1
- expand the luks mapping on sdd1
- expand the filesystem on the luks mapping
Maybe you did not start this operation in the right way.
I would have created a big sdd1, created a new luks on sdd1 and then copied the fileystem
with dd from the old luks to the new one (this means decryption+encryption, but is is
fast
on modern CPUs with AESNI).
Finally, I would have resize2fs'ed the new filesystem.
