How can I test my private key to see its contents or test the password ?
Do you actually have an existing SSL certificate (from a certification
authority), or are you wanting to set up a new one?
If you just want a new locally-generated self-signed one, edit
/etc/pki/dovecot/dovecot-openssl.cnf and run
/usr/libexec/dovecot/mkcert.sh
Note that many mail programs will rightly complain that self-signed
certificates can’t be verified.
If you have an existing certificate, you might still want to do this to
see where (under /etc/pki/dovecot) the files go, and what the
permissions are.
Hope this helps,
James.
