I am trying to start the bluetooth manager (pref
I ran "service bluetooth start". then system->preferences->bluetooth
manager , and I got "connection to bluez failed", "bluez daemon is not
running, blueman manager cannot continue"
I tried:
bluetoothd -dn
and I get:

I have fedora 12 with bluez-4.58-1.fc12 rpm
what can be the reason ?

Mark, what do you have after service bluetooh start ?
Do you have an exit status 0?
Did you check /var/og/messages after running the command?
If you receive any other exit status than 0 then your bluetooth is not
configured to run at level 5 (maybe you disable it)?
Check chkconfig --list bluetooth to see if its configured to run at
level 5.
If not then issue chkconfig bluetooth on, then the above command again
to verify that the command succeeded. After that issue the service
bluetooth start, then see the messages.
